Policy committees

Ibec is the principal business representative group in Ireland and the leading specialist organisation in legislative and regulatory affairs. A core element of our work is lobbying, which allows members to influence the business environment in which they operate.

The potential impact of legislation and policy is not always understood by those who devise it. Ibec communicates the potential impact on business of proposed legislation and policy to our extensive network of contacts with government ministers, TDs, MEPs, the European Commission, the civil service, advisers, opinion formers and media commentators.

Ibec has numerous policy committees which are chaired and populated by members. This is one of the key channels through which we connect with our membership to devise policy and a lobbying strategy to address the challenges and issues facing business and employers.
